Cap Ferrat and Antibes: pines, sea walls and a blue that named the coast.
A wedding on the capes is a high-contrast photographic problem and it should be treated as one rather than softened into something gentler. Umbrella pines, white stone, ochre stucco and a sea that genuinely is that blue sit at close to the limit of what a sensor holds in one frame. We expose for the water and lift the stone, which is why photographs from Cap Ferrat made this way look like the place and not like a postcard of it.
Logistically this is the easiest destination in Europe to move a large guest list to, and that is not a small point. Nice airport is twenty minutes from most of the cap properties, the international connections are direct from everywhere, and guests who would give you a weekend but not a week can actually come. What it asks in return is a coast road that is slow from June to September and evening end times set by ordinance rather than by the venue.

What has to be planned for
- The coast road between Nice, Antibes and Cannes is slow in season. Transfers are timed generously or not at all.
- Most of the seafront is private. The rock platforms that look public generally belong to a villa or a club.
- Nice airport is unusually close to everything, which makes this the easiest European destination on this list to reach.

Is the sea really that colour?
In the middle of the day in summer, yes, and it is a problem as much as a gift. That blue against white stone is close to the limit of what a sensor holds, so we expose for the water and lift the stone rather than the reverse.
How do we plan around the traffic?
Generously, or not at all. The coast road between Nice, Antibes and Cannes is slow from June to September, and a guest transfer that looks like twenty minutes on a map is an hour on a Saturday in August.
When does the evening have to end?
Earlier than you might expect. Most cap properties operate under a local noise ordinance with a firm finish, and it is worth knowing the hour before the band is booked rather than after.
Which month?
September — warm sea, thinning crowds, longer shadows and the light beginning to turn. May and June are clear and warm with the coast still quiet; July and August are the peak in every sense, including the road.
