Wedding photography in Dubrovnik
We photograph weddings and elopements in Dubrovnik — in the walled Old Town and on Stradun, at Fort Lovrijenac, at the cliff hotels along the coast either side of the city, and on the island of Lokrum.
The single most useful truth here is that the Old Town is one of the busiest places in the Mediterranean from mid-morning onwards, so the portraits that look empty are made at sunrise, and the day is planned around that.
Dubrovnik is a medieval city in pale limestone, enclosed by complete walls and set on a rock above the sea. The main street, Stradun, is paved in stone polished smooth by centuries of footsteps, and at first light it reflects the sky like water. By mid-morning in season it is full, and it stays that way until evening.
The city sits at the eastern edge of its time zone, so summer light leaves noticeably earlier than it does in Spain or Portugal, and the high walls put the lanes into shade before the sun is off the sea. The golden hour here is best seen from outside the walls — from the hotels on the cliffs, from Lovrijenac, or from above on Mount Srđ.
We plan a Dubrovnik wedding with the city at its quietest in mind: an early portrait walk on the morning of the day or the day after, and the ceremony and evening at a venue with sea and sky rather than crowds. It is a place that rewards an early alarm more than almost anywhere we work.

The main street of the Old Town, polished stone between the Pile and Ploče gates. At sunrise it is nearly empty and the paving glows; an hour later it is a different place.

The walk around the walls gives rooftops, towers and the open sea from above. Ticketed, busy and hot by midday, so it works best at opening time.

A fortress on a sheer rock above the sea, with the Old Town walls across the bay. The terrace is open to the sky and the sunset, and it is reached by a long flight of steps.

An early twentieth-century villa with terraced gardens down to its own waterfront, looking back across the sea towards the Old Town. The terraces fall in levels, which gives a lot of different backgrounds in a small space.

How far in advance should we book?

Yes — often. An elopement or a wedding of a dozen guests gets the same care as a large one, with coverage from €850 for one to two hours and help choosing the places and the hour.
Can you photograph weddings at our venue?
Almost certainly. We work at venues across Dubrovnik and beyond, and if we have not photographed yours we plan it from the light, the layout and the timeline before the day. Tell us the venue when you check your date.
Do you travel outside Dubrovnik?
Yes. We photograph weddings across Croatia, the rest of Europe and the United States. Travel is quoted separately, itemised and at cost, so you can see exactly what it adds.
How many photographs will we receive?
It depends on the day rather than the clock: a full day usually comes to several hundred edited photographs, an elopement fewer. We do not set a minimum, because a number becomes a target — everything worth keeping is delivered.
When will we receive our gallery?
A preview within seven days, then the complete edited gallery within eight weeks for a wedding and four weeks for an elopement, with high-resolution downloads and personal printing rights.
Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes. A short agreement and a booking deposit reserve your date, and the deposit is part of the total, not added to it. The balance is due before the wedding.
What happens if the weather changes?
We plan a covered alternative for the portraits with you before the day and adapt the timing on the day itself. Soft rain and cloud can make beautiful photographs; nobody is sent out into a storm.
