We photograph weddings and elopements across the Cotswolds — manor houses and stone barns around Burford, Chipping Norton, Kingham and Southrop, and the medieval parish churches of villages such as Bibury.
The region is made of one material, quarried locally for six hundred years, so the manor, the barn, the church and the bridge all belong together in a photograph without anyone arranging it. The grey sky is a feature rather than a risk.
The Cotswolds are made of one material — a warm yellow limestone quarried locally for six hundred years — and the entire region is built from it: houses, walls, barns, churches, bridges. Against the particular green of English pasture, and under the particular grey of an English sky, it produces a palette that exists nowhere else.
That grey is the thing to understand rather than apologise for. Overcast light in England is soft, even and enormous — it comes from the whole sky rather than from one point — and it is the most flattering light there is for faces. Photographers who chase sun here are fighting the place. We do not.
The form is the country-house weekend: a manor or a private estate taken over from Friday to Sunday, guests staying in, a marquee or a converted barn, and a wedding that is the middle of a long weekend in the country. It is the English original of the format, and it is done extremely well here.

Destination Wedding in Cotswolds
The English country-house weekend is the original of the format the rest of this list imitates, and the Cotswolds do it better than anywhere because the raw material is uniform. Six hundred years of building in one honey-coloured limestone means the manor, the barn, the church, the walls and the bridge all belong together in a photograph without anyone arranging it.

How far in advance should we book?

Do you photograph intimate weddings and elopements?
Yes — often. An elopement or a wedding of a dozen guests gets the same care as a large one, with coverage from €850 for one to two hours and help choosing the places and the hour.
Can you photograph weddings at our venue?
Almost certainly. We work at venues across Cotswolds and beyond, and if we have not photographed yours we plan it from the light, the layout and the timeline before the day. Tell us the venue when you check your date.
Do you travel outside Cotswolds?
Yes. We photograph weddings across the United Kingdom, the rest of Europe and the United States. Travel is quoted separately, itemised and at cost, so you can see exactly what it adds.
How many photographs will we receive?
It depends on the day rather than the clock: a full day usually comes to several hundred edited photographs, an elopement fewer. We do not set a minimum, because a number becomes a target — everything worth keeping is delivered.
When will we receive our gallery?
A preview within seven days, then the complete edited gallery within eight weeks for a wedding and four weeks for an elopement, with high-resolution downloads and personal printing rights.
Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes. A short agreement and a booking deposit reserve your date, and the deposit is part of the total, not added to it. The balance is due before the wedding.
What happens if the weather changes?
We plan a covered alternative for the portraits with you before the day and adapt the timing on the day itself. Soft rain and cloud can make beautiful photographs; nobody is sent out into a storm.
