Wedding photography in Barcelona
We photograph weddings and elopements in Barcelona and its coast — the Gothic Quarter and El Born, Montjuïc and the waterfront, castles and masias in the Maresme and the Penedès, and the beach towns of Sitges and the Costa Brava.
The most useful planning truth is that Barcelona runs late: dinners start well into the evening and parties go past midnight, so the photography day is long and the portrait light falls before the reception, not after.
Barcelona gives you three cities in one afternoon. The Gothic Quarter is narrow, shaded and medieval, with light falling into the lanes in slices. The Eixample is wide, ordered and Modernista, with Gaudí and Domènech i Montaner on the corners. And the sea is at the bottom of every street, with the beach and the port catching the open evening sky.
Most weddings here happen just outside the city rather than in it: in castles and masias in the hills behind the coast, in the vineyards of the Penedès, or in the towns along the sea to the north and south. The city itself is often used for the portraits, the day before or the morning after, when the old streets are quiet.
Spanish weddings keep late hours. The aperitivo can run for as long as a dinner does elsewhere, and dancing starts close to midnight. That changes the shape of the coverage: the best portrait light lands before the meal, and the question is less when the light goes than how much of the night you want photographed.

A Gothic trading hall inside a neoclassical building, with high arches and columns. The hall is grand and fairly dark, so the evening is lit by the room and the portraits happen outside.

A castle with gardens and lawns just behind the Collserola hills, close enough to the city for guests staying there. The grounds give open space and green that the centre does not have.

We work out where the sun sits in the garden or on the terrace at your ceremony hour and how the coach route from the city fits the day; when it helps, we can arrive early to see the venue at that hour, which is agreed per inquiry. Many couples add a short session in the Gothic Quarter at dawn, on the wedding morning or the day after, for the city photographs the venue cannot give.
Travel and accommodation are quoted separately, itemised and at cost. You receive a preview set within seven days and the complete edited set within eight weeks, in a private online gallery with full-resolution downloads and a personal print release. A second photographer, a welcome dinner or a morning-after session can be added.

How far in advance should we book?
Nine to fifteen months ahead is usual for a weekend between May and October, and the most popular dates go first. Weekdays and elopements can often be arranged with less notice, so a closer date is always worth asking about.
Do you photograph intimate weddings and elopements?
Yes — often. An elopement or a wedding of a dozen guests gets the same care as a large one, with coverage from €850 for one to two hours and help choosing the places and the hour.
Can you photograph weddings at our venue?
Almost certainly. We work at venues across Barcelona and beyond, and if we have not photographed yours we plan it from the light, the layout and the timeline before the day. Tell us the venue when you check your date.
Do you travel outside Barcelona?
Yes. We photograph weddings across Spain, the rest of Europe and the United States. Travel is quoted separately, itemised and at cost, so you can see exactly what it adds.
How many photographs will we receive?
It depends on the day rather than the clock: a full day usually comes to several hundred edited photographs, an elopement fewer. We do not set a minimum, because a number becomes a target — everything worth keeping is delivered.
When will we receive our gallery?
A preview within seven days, then the complete edited gallery within eight weeks for a wedding and four weeks for an elopement, with high-resolution downloads and personal printing rights.
Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes. A short agreement and a booking deposit reserve your date, and the deposit is part of the total, not added to it. The balance is due before the wedding.
What happens if the weather changes?
We plan a covered alternative for the portraits with you before the day and adapt the timing on the day itself. Soft rain and cloud can make beautiful photographs; nobody is sent out into a storm.
