Wedding photography in Tuscany
We photograph weddings and elopements across Tuscany — villas and wine estates in Chianti, Renaissance gardens around Florence and Siena, and farmhouses in the Val d’Orcia and the Maremma.
Tuscany gives you one of the longest usable golden hours in Europe: the hills are open, nothing blocks the sun until it reaches the horizon, and the light stays amber for well over an hour. The schedule that uses it is written backwards from sunset rather than forwards from the invitation.
Tuscany is the destination wedding in its purest form: a private villa rented for the week, guests staying in it, and a wedding that is the middle day of a holiday rather than an event people fly in and out of. The photographs reflect that. By Saturday everyone has already had three dinners together, and it shows in every frame.
The landscape does something specific to light. The hills are open and rolling, planted in vines and olives with cypress along the ridges, and there is nothing tall enough to block the sun until it actually reaches the horizon. The result is an evening that goes gold and stays gold for well over an hour — one of the longest usable golden hours of any destination on this list.
What Tuscany asks in return is heat and dust in high summer, and a road system of unpaved strade bianche that will take a coach far longer than the distance suggests. Both are entirely manageable and neither should be a surprise.

Where the villa is taken for the week, the welcome dinner is the addition we would argue for, and not because it makes the coverage larger. A villa where everyone has already eaten together produces different photographs on the Saturday. People who met in a car park an hour ago do not behave the way people who have shared a kitchen for four days do, and no amount of technique substitutes for it.

The Tuscan destination wedding is the one format on this site where the photography genuinely improves because of the accommodation. The villa is taken for the week, the guests sleep in it, and by Saturday everyone in your wedding has already eaten three dinners together. People who have spent four days in a house together are photographed differently from people who met in a car park an hour ago, and no amount of technique substitutes for it.

How far in advance should we book?
Nine to fifteen months ahead is usual for a weekend between May and October, and the most popular dates go first. Weekdays and elopements can often be arranged with less notice, so a closer date is always worth asking about.
Do you photograph intimate weddings and elopements?
Yes — often. An elopement or a wedding of a dozen guests gets the same care as a large one, with coverage from €850 for one to two hours and help choosing the places and the hour.
Can you photograph weddings at our venue?
Almost certainly. We work at venues across Tuscany and beyond, and if we have not photographed yours we plan it from the light, the layout and the timeline before the day. Tell us the venue when you check your date.
Do you travel outside Tuscany?
Yes. We photograph weddings across Italy, the rest of Europe and the United States. Travel is quoted separately, itemised and at cost, so you can see exactly what it adds.
How many photographs will we receive?
It depends on the day rather than the clock: a full day usually comes to several hundred edited photographs, an elopement fewer. We do not set a minimum, because a number becomes a target — everything worth keeping is delivered.
When will we receive our gallery?
A preview within seven days, then the complete edited gallery within eight weeks for a wedding and four weeks for an elopement, with high-resolution downloads and personal printing rights.
Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes. A short agreement and a booking deposit reserve your date, and the deposit is part of the total, not added to it. The balance is due before the wedding.
What happens if the weather changes?
We plan a covered alternative for the portraits with you before the day and adapt the timing on the day itself. Soft rain and cloud can make beautiful photographs; nobody is sent out into a storm.
